What is occupational health?

Occupational health services are devoted to recognising and preventing health problems within the workplace, with a focus on the effects of work on health and health on work.

The services we provide are wide-ranging, with a common goal of creating a safe, legally compliant work environment and supporting employers and employees when health problems occur.  We also help clients to become employers of choice through the introduction of proactive health and wellbeing initiatives.

Evidence shows that work is good for health, and someone who has been off work for 6 months or longer has 80% chance of being off work for 5 years (www.nice.org.uk). We help clients to keep their employees in the workplace.

We deliver a full range of absence management, health screening and role medicals (including Offshore and PTS) and have a wide range of accreditations and specialisms.

The many benefits of proactively managing the health of your employees include:

  • Reduced sickness absence
  • Speedier return to the workplace
  • Compliance with legislation and law
  • Reduced staff turnover
  • Reduced recruitment costs
  • Reduced staff costs
  • Increased productivity
  • An enhanced feeling of well-being amongst staff
