Dr Rachel Sharp MB ChB MRCGP MFOM MSc

Rachel is the medical director of Hobson Health. Rachel originally developed an interest in occupational health within her career as a GP but is now a fully accredited specialist in occupational medicine. She has gained a broad range of clinical experience, working for Hobson health since 2009 and within the construction, ceramics, rail, education, local authorities, teaching, manufacturing and automotive. She is an HSE appointed Doctor for lead, asbestos as well as ionising radiation. She is an ORR accredited Doctor for rail safety critical work and is also an OGUK Doctor. She is able to undertake tier 4 HAVS assessments, with a recognised FOM qualification. She acts as an IRMP for several pension schemes including the LGPS. She was awarded the Mobbs Travelling Fellowship in 2013 resulting in a trip to Australia gaining further health and safety experience.

Her role as medical director of Hobson Health means that she has been involved in setting up and leading a large health surveillance program for respirable crystalline silica liaising with employers as well as the HSL. She has published an original research paper and also reviewed both books and clinical questionnaires for the Society of Occupational Medicine Journal. Her role as a recognised educational and clinical supervisor ensures she is teaching and training the next generation of occupational health professionals. Her most recent non-medical achievement was running the London Marathon 2018 for charity and as she recognises the importance of health and wellbeing within her own working life.
